Why this exists
Software for people who work with their hands has always been bad. Overpriced, over-designed, built by people who’ve never done the job. There were stretches where the app just wouldn’t let you log in for a week straight, or wouldn’t show your new jobs at all — the whole point of the tool, broken. And when it broke, the answer was always “sorry, try again later” while the monthly bill kept auto-charging.
FlipBlip exists because that pattern needed to break. Not another SaaS platform that logs you out at the worst possible time. Just a solid tool built for the person doing the actual work, priced like software used to be priced before every company decided renting was better than selling.
Who it’s for
FlipBlip is field-service CRM software for solo residential contractors. If you’re a plumber, electrician, HVAC tech, cleaner, lawn care pro, handyman, or any other one-person operation running a residential service business, this is built with your day in mind.
You’re the one taking the call, driving to the job, doing the work, sending the invoice, and chasing the payment. You don’t have a dispatcher, an accountant, or an office manager. You are all of those things, and the software you use should respect that reality.
FlipBlip is not built for crews scaling up. It’s not designed to become the backbone of a 20-person shop. If your goal is to hire, expand, and manage from a desk, there are other tools out there for that. FlipBlip is for the person who wants to stay independent and do the work themselves.

Not a subscription. You buy the app once. Updates for the version you own are free.
Not a data harvesting operation. Your client info, your job history, your photos — they stay on your machine. FlipBlip has no cloud accounts and no telemetry.
Not for iOS. The Apple tax is real. You pay hundreds more for hardware that’s routinely outclassed by Windows and Android options at half the price. FlipBlip is built for people who work hard for their money and expect the tools they buy to respect that. Windows and Android only, always.
Built for solo contractors. FlipBlip is designed around your day — you take the call, drive to the job, do the work, send the invoice. No dispatcher, no manager, no crew. If your goal is to hire and manage instead of do the work, other tools exist for that.
Offline first, on purpose. Cloud sync means monthly fees, someone else’s servers, and data that was never really yours to begin with — the moment you type it into their app, it’s on their servers to sell, mine, or lose. FlipBlip runs locally so you keep the subscription money, you keep the data, and the app keeps working whether you have signal, whether the company is around, or whether it’s midnight in a client’s basement.
Never requires internet to run. The app itself works entirely offline — jobs, clients, quotes, visit logs, supplies, and photos all live on your device. Certain features need a connection while you’re using them: address lookup and navigation, weather forecasts, the updater, and sharing files through your phone. The API keys — why they help you, not hurt you
FlipBlip uses two third-party services for optional features:
- ▸LocationIQ — for turning addresses into map coordinates
- ▸WeatherAPI — for job-day forecasts
Each offers a free tier that covers a solo contractor’s daily use. Rather than hiding those costs inside a monthly subscription, FlipBlip lets you bring your own API keys. It takes about 10 minutes to sign up for the free tiers, and you get direct control over what services you’re using and what data you’re sending to them.
If you don’t want to use those features, you don’t have to sign up for anything. The address search still works, you just enter addresses manually. Weather is only shown if you connect it. This isn’t friction — it’s transparency. You know exactly what’s running under the hood.
How updates work
When there’s a new version of FlipBlip, you’ll get an email letting you know. Open the app, tap “Check for Updates” in Settings, and it downloads and installs on its own. No manual reinstall. No losing your data. Your existing data carries forward exactly as it was.
Windows and Android are treated equally — the same features, the same update process, the same support.
